songs, such as Tom Lehrer's "Elements" song, and Flanders and Swann's
"The first and second laws of thermodynamics." There are many other
interesting math and science songs. Please email Chris at

DETAILED INFORMATION FOR
SPEAKERS
In recent years, the demand from participants for more talks and more
time for specific talks has encroached on the time participants would
like to spend with each other. However, G4G is not intended
to
act primarily in a "math conference" format. Many
believe
we need more time among the participants.
Therefore G4GX will adjust the G4GX talk schedule from earlier
conferences.
These changes are as follows:
(1) Almost all talks will be limited to 5 MINUTES.
(2) A few talks will be limited to 10 MINUTES;
(3) Very few speakers will be allotted 15 MINUTES
Therefore, please *plan* on speaking for FIVE MINUTES, with the
*possibility only* of speaking longer.
Additionally, please remember to:
(1) direct your talks to the largest possible audience;
(2) have humor, jokes, or music in you talk, if you can;
(3) practice your talk at least twice before G4GX;
(4) find the Ready Area with all your props 45 minutes before your
talk, and be ready to give your talk earlier; and finally
(5) not be too specific about the time your talk is given.
This
makes scheduling difficult and negatively prejudice your talk's
acceptance.
TALKS SCHEDULE:
G4GX Talks are divided morning sessions of four hours from 8:30am to
12:30pm, lunch 12:30pm to 2:00pm, and afternoon 2pm to 6pm.
To open discussion about specific circumstances or if you have special
questions about talks, send email to talks@g4g10.com
